I learned the hard way that January is the hardest month for mental health. Hence, why I haven’t been around lately, and I’m truly sorry for that. I struggle maintaining the dichotomy between your fantasy of who Harlot Hayes is and who I am. Who I am is a human being, struggling with trauma and an ever changing body that’s at war with my sanity. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way and so for those of you who read all these words because you relate to them, you’re not alone either. Let’s be honest, majority of you reading this are male, you’ve been told your whole life that expressing any emotion other than joy & anger is not manly, and that’s just not true. It does not matter your gender, it is ok to not be ok and it is ok to ask for help. But just to clarify, don’t ask me for help I’m not a trained professional. I’m just a interweb whore being real for a moment and reminding you that it is ok to feel your emotions and your feelings are valid.
