I went to a coffee tasting the other day. ☕️
They had coffees from all regions of the island. It was so interesting to learn how coffees from different soil qualities produce entirely different flavors. The trees and spices which are grown in conjunction to the coffee plants will come out in the flavor of the coffee. My favorite coffee was a bean called “Peaberry”, which refers to the pea shape of the bean, as it’s technically a deformed bean, having both lobes moulded together. It naturally happens and makes a percentage of each harvest. Historically, these beans are often discarded. But because of their small size they’re sweeter and have a lighter and more smooth taste. It makes a very mild and delicious coffee in my opinion.
