Look at this gigantic taro I just harvested! A typical taro root that’s commercially grown is about the size of a grapefruit. I managed to grow this massive one through an old fashioned technique that doesn’t involve any chemical inputs. The key is to plant it in an area that’s downhill and gets lots of rain drainage because taro likes wet, boggy soil. Then I put cow manure around the roots when it’s planted. The concentration of minerals and probiotics in the manure is great for soil health.
