Added 2023-03-06 18:22:14 +0000 UTCHappy Monday! What did you do over the weekend? Today I worked at World Central Kitchen packing beet salad and coleslaw and peeling teeny tiny onions. The kitchen is right next to a warehouse that was bombed to shit two weeks ago and the walk to work is littered in broken glass and potholes. Apparently in the early days of the war, volunteers at the kitchen slept in the basement for four months and made meals during the day. Now the kitchen makes almost 2k meals a day. There's cabbage rolls, chicken rice balls, bouillon soup, and other yummy Ukrainian vittles. I'd be lying if I said the work doesn't get kind of boring, but I imagine a Ukrainian opening each package and eating the food and it makes me happy. I think the people there can tell that I'm pretty but they have no idea what else I do xD Thank you so much for making today possible for me and I hope you're doing well!
