Lemons in Positano are not just fruits, but a real business card of the region. And their fragrance haunted me literally at every step.
Once, walking through the winding streets, I came across a small family shop selling fresh lemons and everything that could be cooked from them. Limoncello, lemon cakes, lemon-flavored soap - my eyes were running away from such abundance. I couldn’t resist and bought myself a bottle of limoncello to bring a piece of Positano home 🏠
But the most amazing thing happened a little later, when I went on a tour of one of the lemon gardens. It was a whole ritual - to walk among tall trees dotted with large lemons, which were much larger than those we usually see in stores. I picked one lemon right from the branch, and its aroma turned out to be so bright and fresh that it instantly reminded me of sunny days and a warm breeze 😍
That day I learned that lemons here are not just an ingredient for limoncello - it is a part of the local culture, the pride of the residents. Even the local cuisine is literally imbued with this bright citrus taste. In every dish, from fish to desserts, there was a hint of lemon.
My vacation in Positano will forever be connected with this refreshing and sunny taste. And now, when I eat lemons, it seems to me that I am returning to this picturesque shore, where the sun always shines brightly, and life seems so light and beautiful.😻
