Halloween Look 5: Vivian Ward Pretty Woman! I think this 1990 classic was told through clothing! If you are familiar with the film then you know the storyline started with Vivienne on Hollywood Boulevard dressed to work in an obvious clash of styles. She wore a short, skin-baring, two-piece dress held together by a chrome ring that was inspired by a Rudi Gernreich bathing suit. She also wore a ‘60s-style band jacket (I improvised) and thigh-high patent leather boots. As the movie goes on and Vivienne’s lifestyle quickly elevates; her wardrobe naturally does too. In wake of her glow up, she’s seen shopping on Rodeo Drive, wearing designer gowns, and custom jewelry by the end of the film. But, before she wore couture she was confident in this dress... which is why it has become so infamous in the world of fashion.
