In the next 2 weeks I won’t be able to attend my outpatient therapy because my insurance is no longer covering eating disorders. Why? Why aren’t you covering something that is literally taking over my entire life. I Oates something about it to my cousin and she said “they’re a specialty doctor so you’re gonna have a copay. They’re not directly targeting you.” EXCUSE ME?!?!? They are only validating the fact that treatment is hard to get in any body type and that eating disorders aren’t valid. If your justification for insurance is because it’s a specialty doctor then ALL specialty doctors shouldn’t be covered. That’s the most bullshit ass statement I’ve ever heard. But then family wonders why I don’t talk to them or visit them. Your dumb ass comments like that are why. I’m terrified to know how my next 6 months are gonna be. I haven’t been in treatment for a year and I already feel like recovery isn’t an option. I have a $20 copay for my nutritionist to tell me I’m getting worse.
