He took my phone, my camera, my cash, and my rental car. He nearly took my faith in humanity. I had given this individual shelter, food, and the shirt off my back and he repayed me with the ultimate betrayal. I am trying to navigate feelings of hopelessness, dispair, and vegence. As I feel my faith in humanity dwindling I am reminded of you beautiful humans who have supported me on this travel journey and the hundreds of wonderful people I have met along the road. My heart is broken, but as I look back I am reassured that there is far more good in this world than bad. I am physically unharmed and that is the most important thing. I have done everything in my power to remedy this situation, and I have to leave it to the authorities and the universe to sort it out. I am in the middle of this nightmare, but I refuse to let this experience leave me bitter or jaded. Please send positivity in my direction. ❤️
