- ignored all distractions (phone, movies, people)
- sat with music, a pen and paper and the VOID
- listed the vague subjects that burbled anxiety within me
THIS WAS THE MAGIC PART
make some actionable task I could execute on each
“i feel like I’m being a bad pet parent"
action: take her for a walk
“I fear i’ll run out of money"
put $10 into savings and cancel Netflix for this month
“my body is changing and it’s scaring me"
do 10 crunches.
LITERALLY ANY ACTIONABLE item helped break the cycle of fear in me.
Moving that shaky, twiney, cold grey energy from the void at the center of me into a transmogrified action brought power back into my being.
next time you’re feeling this way, i challenge you to create an action, it may not solve your problem, it may be only a wee, squishy little thing, but that little thing reminds you that you have power to change your circumstances.
