Later that day my friend played mountain lion sounds on her phone to see what they sounded like- and one part of the video to me sounded like when my cat is in heat. And sure as shit a few minutes later the male responded with his own awful noise up the hill from our spot. Pretty much they sound like a woman is being skinned in the woods. Very cool moment to have happened though. We promptly moved camp the next morning out of his space after we accidentally teased the poor guy into thinking a female was around.
Very cool but I did not stay up to watch the mentors that night and I definitely did not sleep well knowing an apex predator was in our immediate area lol
