You know the drill. 😊 ♡ My Lipedema/ My Body Shape ♡ One of the reasons for my small waist & curvy shape (other than being blessed!) 😋 is Lipedema. Lipedema is a chronic medical condition involving painful & diseased fat that causes abnormally large hips and legs, usually lumpy and out of proportion to the rest of the body. Lipedema also appears in the upper arms. One of the hallmarks of the disease is that lipedema fat is relatively unresponsive to diet and exercise. Weight loss in other areas may be successful, but the size of the hips and legs remains disproportionately large. Blame my little frame and chubby arms and legs on this, LOL! Having lipedema often causes my legs, butt and hips to feel tender and painful and they bruise easily. This is also why my legs & thighs are not smooth like the rest of my skin. There is no cure for lipedema, the diseased fat can only be removed through the surgical intervention of specialized lymph-sparing liposuction. I have had one of these surgeries completed, and need several more which I do hope to have in the future. ♡ My Scars ♡ You may have noticed in some of my photos and videos that I have several scars from past surgeries. My main scars are located in my legs and under my cheek creases from my leg liposuction and were caused by some post surgical complications. I also have some severe scarring across my stomach and back from some major medical issues and injuries. I'm saving up for the procedure to have the scar tissue removed from within my stomach.
