Hey loves❤️ I want to share something a little more personal this morning… I have been going through a really tough time lately, or rather, my family has ~ but family is everything and we all go through these things together!
Last week my dad a heart attack, it’s his second heart attack by the age of 51.
I live abroad and being away from home when family is ill is the worst feeling in the world… I feel so helpless but for this whole year I have been helping them where I can by sending them money and buying food.
A few years ago my dad had a motorbike accident that nearly took his life, the whole one side of his body shattered, his stomach burst open and he had to have really intensive surgery which he is still suffering with today.
My mom and dad have their own small business in South Africa which requires my dad to be physically working every single day, it is a lot of labour and he can only afford one guy to help him on the jobs.
My dad is the only one who makes money for my mom and younger siblings… we are not a rich family at all and with everything that has happened to my dad he now unable to work.
My dad is a very stubborn man who stresses himself into being more sick, he feels like he isn’t allowed to rest because he has to make money to pay the house and put food on the table, but all he needs to do right now is heal his body and take care of himself.
My heart is absolutely shattered at the moment for them, I feel so heart sore to see my dad in so much pain, unable to stand for more than a few minutes or talk for a long time as it hurts him.
I am sharing this here not for anyone to feel sorry for my family… I think it’s important to be real in these intimate spaces and to share a deeper understanding of each other’s journeys ❤️
I am going to be sending any tips that I receive here on my page to my parents to help them through this difficult time 🙏🏼 (the target I made here is an amount that would help them with so much of their bills for this month)
