Just my luck, right?😄 I pulled over to the side of the road, and for a moment, I just sat there, staring at the deflated tire like it had personally offended me.
Of course, I had no clue how to change a tire. I mean, who actually reads those car manuals? I got out of the car and started pacing, hoping for a miracle. Just then, a bus pulled up next to me, and out stepped the driver, looking like a knight in shining armor (or rather, a reflective vest).
“Need some help?” he asked with a grin.
“Yes, please!” I practically shouted, relieved. He got to work right away, and I tried to look helpful by holding the flashlight, though I probably looked more like a deer caught in the headlights. As he worked, we chatted and laughed. Turns out, he had a million funny stories from his years of driving the bus.
Within no time, he had the spare tire on, and my car was good to go. I couldn’t stop thanking him. He waved it off and said, “Just part of the job!” before heading back to his bus. As I drove away, I couldn’t help but laugh at the whole situation. Here I was, dreaming of a grand road trip, and I couldn’t even handle a flat tire on my own!
One thing’s for sure: this little misadventure gave me a great story to tell, and a reminder that there are still kind people out there willing to lend a hand. 🥰😛
