Everyone knew that one guy who would relentlessly and constantly slide their shoes off in class. That one bro whose feet you couldn’t stop staring at in math class. The one guy who stunk up the whole classroom by sliding his sweaty feet out of his sneakers.

In high school, that guy was me.

I loved kicking my shoes off in class and letting the smell fill the room and seeing the look on people’s faces as they realized what they were in for. I would slide my feet in and out aggressively, playfully crushing and rocking my sneaks back and forth.

This pair was my favorite, since my feet smelled the best in them. I would come from gym after playing basketball for an hour and my feet had that perfect smell.

One day, after gym, I was in science class sliding my feet out of my shoes like I usually do. I didn’t pay too much attention to those around me aside from the groans of “what’s that smell?” But this time I noticed a classmate staring at them. Legit STARING.

At first, I didn’t know what to think of it. So I kept shoe playing and listening to the lecture. Then, I slid my socked feet out completely to let my smelly feet air out. I looked back at the guy and he was staring attentively and drooling, not paying any attention to the lecture at all.

After class I walked over to him leaving just one of my sneakers on my feet. He didn’t even look up at me, he was staring at my socked foot.

“Did you understand what the teacher was trying to say?” I asked. “I need some help with the notes.”

He looked confused as if he didn’t pay attention. “I’m...not sure...umm I must have been dozing off,” he replied.

“Well, I noticed you were looking at my feet during class today. What’s up with that?” I asked.

His face turned red.

“Hello? What’s up with that?” I reiterated.

“I um, Idk, you have cool shoes I guess” he responded.

I let out a little chuckle. “See you in class tomorrow,” I said with a devilish smile.

I put my shoe back on and walked out of the classroom, being sure he could get one final look at my heel popping out as I walked away. He had no idea what was in store for him in the coming days. 😈
