Added 2024-04-29 11:11:12 +0000 UTCMAZATLAN, MX: I'm on Isla de Venados or Deer Island. The word Mazatlan means land of deer in the Nahuatl language. There are still many herds of deer here but not nearly as many before the Spanish settlers came and decimated their numbers.
I took the boat taxi to this island to do this shoot during low tide. It's the only time I could walk to the point where I could see both sides of the island. And be secluded enough to do this shoot. Timing is everything.
