**Luna Update / Luna Fund:** 🐱 ⚠️ *Whoever contributes the most toward this fund by the time the goal is complete will win a ***custom video*** from me, up to 20 minutes in length! I will keep the highest contributed amount updated here if you’d like to keep track:* 👉 **$240 (JJ -- Winner of custom video!)** So over the past several weeks, I’ve noticed some changes with Luna. She lost quite a bit of weight, and was drinking and peeeing way more frequently. Her mood and her overall personality hasn’t changed, but I figured it was time to get her checked, so I made her an appointment at the vet. They did some bloood work and a u-rine analysis, and after two and a half hours, it was confirmed that she has diabetes 😿. With that being said, I now have to give her insulin injections twice a day, for most likely the rest of her life. I was taught at the vet how to administer her injections, and it’s definitely going to take me some time to get used to, but luckily the needle is so thin that Luna barely even reacts to it. She will be switched to a prescribed cat food that helps regulate glucose levels, and I’ll have to adjust her feeding times exactly 12 hours apart, as well as the amount of insulin I give her (depending on the amount that she eats). I was also instructed to give her karo syrup if she seems to be hypoglycemic. I was honestly really stressed about all this yesterday, and still am. After the $450 bill yesterday, I feel like I can’t ever catch a break when it comes to the vet and my animals (as many of you know the history behind my dog Saber and her past 4 surgeries). But I know it’s just a matter of time until we all adjust to it, and as long as she has her insulin, I know she’ll be okay. She‘ll be visiting the vet pretty often for the next month or so until we figure out the right amount of units that help keep her regulated. It takes something serious for me to have to ask this, and I hate that I have to put up another fund again so soon, but if you have the extra to spare and want to help Luna and I out, I would be so so grateful! 🙏 Also, I know the goal is high, and I don’t expect it to be completed within a certain time frame. Any amount will help cover the cost of her vet bills, insulin ($143 per vial), needle syringes, and her prescription food, so I’ll just keep this post pinned for whenever you feel inclined to donate. Thank you in advance! ❤️❤️❤️
