The maid dress; the quintessential representation of the submissive and feminized man. The meme that took over the internet. It's a symbol of servitude and obedience, of the emasculated man, and the strawman thrown around to criticize "men these days." For many, the maid dress is detested, for others, a gnawing desire deep in their hearts. But to me, the concept of the maid dress represents something much more tender, more loving, and more free. The maid dress, my wonderful boys, is your salvation.

When we look to the negative side of things, there's apparently so many things wrong with the maid dress. Men aren't supposed to be feminine and submissive, we're told. Men are supposed to be big manly masculine men. With such a narrow worldview, it's no wonder that the maid dress scares these conservative thinkers. It's the skeleton in the closet of the great pretenders, the scarecrow in the field to a pack of crows looking to pick at and devour the good boy. It's a fragile masculinity, the worldview they desire, it's a box so limited and delicate, that no man can help but step outside now and again and be attacked, their manhood besmirched, their personhood violated. It's a sad place, a horrible place filled with self-hatred and disgust. It's not a place for my good boys.

When we look to the positive side of things, the maid dress is the embodiment of the liberation of men from the bindings of their masculinity, a bond of trust made between sub and mistress. The maid dress is the chance for many men to free themselves from the trappings of toxic masculinity, a chance to define themselves by their own criteria, without the expectations of an uncaring society. It's a chance to remove the burden of responsibility and allow a man to become a good boy. It's the freedom to allow his partner or mistress to take control for him and remove the expectation and violation of leadership. It's a chance to be free.

Don't be afraid of the maid dress, my darlings. You are valid exactly as you are, regardless of what you are wearing or what others tell you. Only you can define you own masculinity; your definition is your own, and the criteria is for you to set. You don't have to be afraid to open your heart to it and be vulnerable, you don't have to deny your desires. Let go of all the garbage that's been piled onto you by society, by your friends and family, and be who you really are. So yes, go put on the maid dress.
