I’m in Chicago! Last night I got in so late that I had a hell of a time finding food. I stepped into this bar and they temporarily opened the kitchen for me to make some pretzel bites and spicy mustard. The stranger next to me bought me a beer and shared his much appreciated vape pen and I was finally able to relax. They were simple but kind gestures after a brutal day of frustratingly slow travel (14 hours flying when I could have driven it on my terms in 17) and Chicago didn’t leave me hanging. As we had a few beers and chatted, I wrote down what I thought at the time were important ideas and shared a couple of audible books. When I’m on the road, I make friends easily... but you know this. Quiz time! Without googling, name this quote: “I’ve always relied on the kindness of strangers.”
