It's similar to just being "single" but more like intentionally "solo," with many undefined relationships - all human connection is a relationship of one kind or another, after all. I wonder if this isn't the way the world is heading anyway. Non-traditional relationship styles are becoming more mainstream and dating apps are also altering the way humans find connections. A part of me still hopes I'll just fall head over heels one of these days the old-fashioned way, focus on someone and go back to thinking the world is simple.
