A lot of things can't be done all in shot. So it takes me filming things in pieces. The shoes are a mechanical rig. But I need to place the pants back into the shot. So I would film the pants like this. I'd also do a over the top shot with the pants as well. It gives me options to add the pants in, or not. Depending on the shot. Same goes for the feet. Just the reverse. The foot would be on my make shift blue screen stage. I use foam pads. Because they remain flat. VS cloth screens get wrinkles and move.
