Added 2020-06-26 19:09:55 +0000 UTCGuys - My heart feels like it’s ripping out! My little dog that I rescued in Mex got a spinal injury yesterday right after our run! I’ve been at the vet since then! She was chasing another dog full speed with stoke, and ran into the stair. As silly as it is, she fractured a disc in her neck but her brain is fine and intact, but right now she is paralyz ed. It’s so tough because she’s stoked, knows what’s going on, loved seeing me, but can’t move her body yet. (Her nerves do have sensation, still and that’s a good sign). However, It’s about $1300 for the surgery and it’s a 50/50. I want to do it. But I’m stressed about it and going back and forth in the decision. Right now, she is stable, I spent all night giving her IVS, antiinflamatorios, and other meds. As of this morning, she is at a better vet that is an ICU. As of now, she is stable and on fluids and steroids. Our hope is that she will try to stand or move on her own and that would indicate that this would be something that she could possibly heal from with time.
