I’m bigger than most folks at my studio and therefore have a harder time building up the strength needed to lift my weight. It can be so discouraging to see new people quickly master tricks that I’ve been working at for months. I also have a weird issue where my hips/groin will randomly hurt a lot when I squeeze my legs together which makes pole climbing extremely challenging. I went to physical therapy for it last year, but I find it difficult to keep up with all the exercises daily on my own in order to maintain the progress I made then on top of work, classes, and other life stuff. I truly love pole and don’t think I can ever leave it, no matter how much I struggle with tricks. But this stuff does get to me sometimes and makes it tough for me to want to go to classes.
Aside from those struggles, there are a couple reasons I don’t post pole content as much as I’d like to—1) I’m a huge perfectionist and 2) I’m not super comfy with my body. I only want to really share videos where I feel like I’m killing it at every moment, and it’s hard for me to accept that there are some moments where I don’t hit things as cleanly as I’d like to or I’m trying to recall what comes next.
And then there’s my bod—I mean, in this video, my gut straight up pooches out from under this shirt bc it’s shorter than I realized 😭 I’m honestly always worried that I look too fat in things to post them here, but I also remind myself that y’all are here bc you think I at least look decent lol, so hopefully a lil extra tummy or some thigh/booty dimples don’t bother you too much.
All that to say—I’d love to start sharing more pole dance vids with y’all, but I’m just really self conscious about it 🙈 so I’m going to try to fight that fear by posting a decent length vid here now. I hope y’all like it 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 And if you read this whole novel bless u, kind stranger
