At this stage, the clitoris, which had previously been reshaped into what is known as the "Klitpen," could be connected to the phalloplasty. The clitoris, now shaped into the Klitpen, is responsible for the ability to orgasm and provides full sensation in the neophallus.
During the first week, you’re usually on strict bed rest and receive daily physical therapy to help restore mobility in the hand.
As for the pain: the hand was mostly numb or had a tingling sensation—so it was actually quite manageable. Sharp pains only occur when the nerves begin to reconnect, but with regular physiotherapy, that subsides over time.
There’s no pain in the neophallus itself. After being discharged, it is taped upward and to the side to maintain the elasticity of the skin.
For me personally, this was the most beautiful surgery—because mentally, you finally feel closer to your goal.
