There is nothing that will keep our dogs safe in as many situations as a solid recall, and Waffles has a few cues for her recall. "Come" is an obvious one, but Waffles also has environmental cues to return to me. Like most dogs, she used to bolt when she was startled, and now she comes to me because every time something is too distracting for her, I have her come back to a heel position. Heeling while walking is a complicated behavior, but standing in heel position is the easiest fallback behavior for Waffles when we are in play mode💕💕
