First time our college bestie took us to the masquerade and some lady on a podium poured hot candle wax down my tongue and then danced to goth music i was hooked. Then in the 2000s i got into the rave scene and fell in fucking love with the community. We'd give star shows and blow people up. We'd take our kitsune backpack and we'd bring our velvet frog for people to stim on. It was so much fun helping others see elsewhere. I love to make and give kandi bracelets to people out in the wild. I believe in PLURR. Peace love unity respect responsibility My motto is : I see you. I love you. You matter. It has become the mantra of The Collective. My favorite color is rainbow! Lol. Also purple. My familiars have been cats so far. Majik is in my soul and sets my spirit free. So i'm kinda like a stage/switchboard for the others to come out. I love sparkly and shiny things and love textures. Very tactile based. I love crystals. One of my favorite things to do is to be in a metaphysical store and let crystals tell me tgey need to go home with peoole. So we'll just go up to a stranger and be like, "so this stone said you need to keep it with you in this manner for this reason. " and i pay for it and give it to them. And they usually go "how did you know?" And i just shrug. They told me! I dont have a specific art style. I kinda dabble in everything. Painting, drawing, cross stitching, knitting, painting pottery, jewelry making, just about everything. I'm what you'd call a jack of all trades bard. 🤩 I am proudly queer af.. i am very much a they them. And if a binary term has to be used i prefer he. This is the horizontal shot that's gonna be in the book. If you're on IG check out gonzorrific. He makes amazing schlock feminist movies. We've been in 2 of them! Foxxxy and Athens Camp Killer. They were a blast to make. Our screen name is Tori Nova. 😉 What we love about this shot is that we are both powerful and vulnerable here. We spent an hour exposing damn near just abput every flaw and issue we've had with pur physical form. And then we took these pictures. Instead of continuing to try and hide we're showing you the stretch marks that graced us at 10 yrs old when we suddenly developed hips but not breasts, and the bullying that ensued. We are proudly displaying our surgery scar from a ruptured appendix at 9 yrs old; we're one of the youngest cases. That double stomach that is oh so soft touch, has looked like that since we were 9. Imagine how uncomfortable dressing out for pe waa. Everyone has issues with their bodies. Rather than try to hide behind angles and whatnot, we are chosing to finally embrace the shell that houses all of us. None or few of us may identify with the body, but Shelly sure has gone through so much to get us where we are today. So thank you Shelly. So this passed saturday we got to sit down with a dear friend and journalist for an interview for his uocoming book Everybodies. These are the favorite pics from what he took and 2 of them will be in the book!! In the interview we talk about how our relatiinship with our body has changed over time and what levels of acceptance and dysphoria we're at with ourselves today. So if yall ever wondered why our tummy looks the way it does, it's bc we had a ruptured appendix a long ass time ago. And we've had a "second belly button" (the scar) ever since. We've always hated it and have always been insanely self conscious and people were cruel. But it's a part of us, just like our thunder thighs!! Besides we are very sof! We wanted our poses to be more natural and to show the battle scars we wear proudly of our continued existence in this flesh suit we call home. Here's to trying to love ourselves at 47! Playing around with faerie lights. Spent the evening with a friend being interviewed and photographed for a book! So now we've been photographed for 2 books! We are incredibly excited about this project. The book is going to be called Everbodies. We talk about our relationships with our thunder thighs, surgery scars, and how after a lifetime of battling weight and body dysmorphia we're finally starting to accept our body in its natural form. We are learning to appreciate our body rather than think of its value solely in how others view it. It's broken as fuck but it's ours and we're appreciative of it.
