After getting ghosted by the “friend” Jamie I had embarked on this 35 day Mexico trip 3 days into our adventure, my new friend, Justin I made at my hostel in Mexico City & I really hit it off, so we spent all our last days in town together having the most fun adventures! It was time for Justin to go back to Austin, TX after 2 months in Mexico, but this was just the beginning of my 35 day adventure! Justin helped me completely re-work the dumb ass route Jamie had initially planned & set up me up with loads of cool recommendations in cool places! He recommended I book a flight to Oaxaca to start the next leg of my journey, so Oaxaca City here I come! ✈️

After getting ghosted by the “friend” Jamie I had embarked on this 35 day Mexico trip 3 days into our adventure, my new friend, Justin I made at my hostel in Mexico City & I really hit it off, so we spent all our last days in town together having the most fun adventures! Our Sunday Funday at Xochimilco was probably my favorite day - we had so much fun and I laughed so hard the entire day!
Xochimilco is a neighborhood in southern Mexico City gives way to the famous canals, the last remnants of a vast water transport system built by the Aztecs. Colorful gondola-like boats take visitors on cruises while food vendors, artisans and mariachi bands float past. The atmosphere is festive, especially on weekends. Tourists can also visit the eerie, purportedly haunted Island of the Dolls.

After going through a divorce and a global pandemic simultaneously, my “Eat Pray Love” trip is finally here! I’ve embarked on a 35 day trip to Mexico with my friend, Jamie from Brooklyn, NY, but the 3rd day in, he ghosted on me, checked out of the hostel, never responded to my messages and left me to completely fend for myself turning our trip together into a solo trip! It was stressful, scary & overwhelming, but I had the support of an amazing friend, Justin, that I met here to help me re-work my trip at the last minute & go it alone!
