Club Enduro today for Matt. He qualified 3rd in class but a gearbox failure ended his race prematurely. If everything goes as planned the car will be back out in October with a fresh gearbox... hopefully coming back with some silverware!

And thats a wrap for the season, Matt brings it home in 18th. Two decent results for his first time in the car with old tyres and brakes etc. And most importantly he brought it back in one piece for me. I'll be heading back to Donington Park tomorrow as Matt is racing again, this time in his MX5.

Matt has done a great job so far, qualified in 27th as it was cut very short due to an accident so he never really got his eye in. In race 1 he climbed to 15th which is great considering he has had no practice and is not familiar with the car. 1 more race in about an hour then its season over 😢

It's race week, but not not a normal one. I'm not allowed to drive this weekend as I'm still recovering from my surgeries. Matt has been an integral part of the team, looking after the car for me for the last 2 years, this weekend he changes role to driver.... we couldn't miss the opportunity for a bit of fun with the announcement video 😅

Hi All, Just a quick post to update everyone. I've finally been released from hospital after 2 emergency surgeries. I was in for 23 days total and for a brief time being fed through a tube in my arm so it has been rough. Now I'm out, once I'm feeling a but better ill start getting some race car content back up again. We've got a bit of a backlog of OFTV episodes to get out too. Plenty of content to come 👌

Hi all apologies for the lack of updates over the weekend. Sunday my Colitis played up and I spent most of the day laid down in the back of the race truck in agony. Thanks to my team having the car prepped without asking I managed to complete the remaining 2 races which actually produced better results. I was admitted to hospital when I got home so once I am out i will get some proper race reports and videos up.

So, day one over and my worst results to date. A pretty rubbish qualifying saw my 30th and then a spin into the gravel ensured that I wouldn't make any more progress. Race 1 I made a few places and was hunting the pack down in front, but lap times were still sub par, getting frustrated and trying to push on just ended up in more mistakes and dropping back to the cars behind, finished in 28th. Not a great day, hoping for better things tomorrow

We've had a decent day testing at Silverstone. 2 wet sessions where the objective was just to stay out of trouble, then a couple of drying sessions in the afternoon. Didn't seem to have the grip that some others had, I think the tyres were getting too hot so we'll be dropping the pressures for qualifying tomorrow. These garages at Silverstone are immaculate though 👌😍

Something different today. The civic has stayed at home and we are running this MX5 for Matt in the Club Enduro championship. This mornings qualifying session was the first competitive session thr car had been in. He lines up P5 for the 2 hour endurance race starting in 30 minutes.

A bit of Sunday night wood working. The old splitter had taken lots of abuse and been patched up plenty of times so it was time for a new one... check our how bent those mounts are 🤣🤦♂️ Just need to get the air dam back on and then the usual prep bits ready for Silverstone 🤟

How about another race video :) This is round 3 at Brands Hatch starting 11th on the grid, a decent start was hampered by getting a love tap or 2 going into turn 1, the rest of the race was fairly steady, finishing in 9th place.

This weekend the civic stayed at home and we went to Blyton Park to support Matt with the shakedown of his freshly built MX5 for Club Enduro. We found a few weak points, got a base geometry set up done and Matt got plenty of laps in. Matts spent the last 2 years supporting me with the civic so great to be able to return the favour, look forward to running it for him at Snetterton in a couple of weeks. I think this car looks awesome, what do you think?

CADWELL PARK RNDS 7,8,9 We had a decent weekend at Cadwell Park. Having never driven the circuit before I was glad to have a test day to learn it. A bit too much time spent in traffic in qualifying but lined up in 13th which I was happy with. Race 1 made decent progress on a damp track, was on for a P11 but got too impatient coming out of the final corner and did a bit of rallycross, eventually finished 15th Race 2 again was decent progress, a bit mote rallycross this time to avoid a crash that happened right in front of me. A good bit of battling with Jones, finished 12th. Race 3 I think we got tyre pressure wrong. It was much hotter than I anticipated and my tyres were done pretty early, understeer galore. But another 12th place finish. Overall it was a good weekend, I really enjoyed Cadwell and definitely want to go back, it's a bight tight when 30 civics are fighting for the same bit of track though 🤣 A bit disappointing to still be outside of the top 10, but edging closer and feel good for Silverstone. Big thanks to the team for packing up and taking the car back for me so I could make it to my daughters' dance Show!

Round 2 raw footage, once again exclusive to OF, you won't find this anywhere else. This is the round where my front damper snapped. And I have even managed to figure out how to clip it down so it skips straight to the race start.

In all the rushing around to load up and get away after race 3 yesterday I completely forgot to do the final update. We threw some used discs and pads on to get us through Race 3. Starting 12th I lost some places in the first corner due to an accident in front of me but recovered to finish 11th. It's been a properly action packed weekend, luckily we stayed out of trouble mostly but we got plenty of footage for the OFTV channel and for our followers on OF. Sorry for the poor quality video it was a quick one recorded at the track, I'll get some decent videos up ASAP. But yeah, this video basically sums up the weekend 😅... very spicy

Started 14th and finished 12th. In the post race spanner checks we found this cracked disc so we have replaced both front discs. Highlights how important the pre and post race car checks are

Race 1 done. A good race but unfortunately dropped it on the grass pushing a bit too hard coming out of the last corner and lost a load of places. Then a nasty crash further up the field brought an early finish. P15, not great, not terrible. Now it's BBQ time.

Right, that's qualifying done. Luckily we got it put of the way before the rain came. Qualified in P13 out of 28, with a personal PB so can't complain at that. Cadwell is a tight track so overtaking is going to be limited and if this rain keeps on it might be a sketchy race. So plan is nothing daft, keep it clean and try to stay out of trouble!

Pulled the civic out yesterday to give it some love. Was going to do a bit of filming but I was short on time so just cracked on instead. Spanner check, little bumper repair, pulled the shifter mech out and found a loose bolt so tightened that up and put some fresh bushes on... most importantly, gave it a good wash 😍 The splitter needs a bit of TLC but apart from that she's good to go! Cadwell Park next weekend for a triple header.
