Big news! In just a couple weeks from now, I am moving back to the Dominican Republic, a country I love and was proud to call home a couple years ago. What this means for you is more underwater and scuba content year round! I'm doing this so I can escape the winter and keep shooting water stuff. Plus you'll get to see new rubber and breathplay content shot from a beautiful tropical location! So exciting, right? On the other hand, it also means that my posting frequency will be slightly reduced here in the next week or two while I wrap up many details and tie up all the loose ends in my life before the big move. I'll still post of course, just not as much. But it'll be worth the wait I promise! The photos above are from 2012 in Dominican Republic and I am going to that same spot. Let the adventure begin!!

A fan recently challenged me with a fun underwater game! This clip is from the custom he commissioned. The idea is simple: throw a bunch of coins all over the pool and retrieve as many as possible in a single breath. Thinking it would be easy, I started strong with 6 coins. Little did I know that the coins are virtually impossible to see because of the reflections and the water's refraction.

I'm a former competitive freediver and back when I was training and competing regularly I got to a point where I could hold my breath over 5 minutes pretty consistently. At one point I was training too much and trying to grow too fast, I burned myself out. So I stopped diving. Now fast forward just a couple of years later and it's hard for me to do any long underwater breathholding. Especially in front of a camera! The mental space just isn't there... but on this beautiful day at the pool I went in with the intent to just relax, not perform. I did a series of very comfortable underwater breathholds with minimal struggle or movement, just pure relaxation.

And since I just got a new gas mask unexpectedly just a few days ago, my first thought was to try this beautiful 3M respirator and hook it up to replicate the vintage double hose style I'm so fond of.
