There has been so much said about the value and superiority of natural beauty over the artificial. But to me the most beautiful things are at the intersection of natural and artificial. Of course a forest is more beautiful than a shopping mall! But isn’t an abandoned cabin or old stone hut in the forest so much more enchanting than just the empty forest? Aren’t places like the Pyramids overrun by the jungle in Central America or the temples in Cambodia the most beautiful? But not only the is the reclamation by nature interesting but also human dominion over it. Gardens and parks like this one can be more beautiful than a wilderness devoid of human signs. The ugliness of the artificial comes from too many people doing too much. I think this applies to women too. Just a touch of makeup or a slightly nicer dress etc is more beautiful. Too much makeup and surgery and focus on luxury clothes becomes artificial and ugly.
