It's not simple, but it's what I can do. My daily chores have become slower and require more effort, but I try to get done what I can, even though it can be frustrating not being able to do everything like I used to.

(5/7) After my accident, I was at home with a broken arm and both legs in a cast. Rafaelo, my friend, came to visit me a couple of days later. When he saw me sitting on the couch said, “How about we go for a walk? Even if it's just in the wheelchair.”

I agreed without thinking too much. With Rafaelo pushing the chair, we went for a walk down the street. Although my legs felt heavy from the casts, my friend's company made the time go by faster🫶🏻

I looked down and saw both of my legs completely plastered and elevated, held in place by a rope. The cold air in the room made me shiver, and I realized my feet were freezing. Taking a deep breath, I raised my voice and asked the nurse to bring me some socks.

A few hours passed, and the cold was no longer as unbearable. Then the door opened, and my friend Flaco walked in. With his typical smile, he came over and said he was there to pick me up. He helped me stand up carefully, and although the pain was intense, his presence gave me some comfort.

(3/7) It was a sunny day, and I was getting ready for a trip with my leg in a cast. Daniela, was helping me with everything. While I do my makeup, she took care of adjusting the wheelchair, making sure everything was set up so I’d be comfortable. "Don’t worry, I’ll help you throughout the trip," she said with a reassuring smile.

The trip went well, and although I sometimes used the wheelchair on my own, Daniela was always nearby, making sure I was okay. On the way back home, we reached the building, and I felt a bit more relaxed, thinking I was almost done for the day.

However, when we were going down a ramp into the building, something went wrong. The wheelchair started sliding too fast, and before I knew it, I fell to the ground. The impact was strong, and the pain hit me instantly, sending a chill through my body. Daniela, "don’t move! I’m calling an ambulance," she said in a firm but worried voice.

Within minutes, the ambulance arrived.

A Tumble in the Park (1/7)

It was a fresh spring morning when I met my friend Daniela to work out at the park. After a short run, we decided to do some stair exercises. Daniela was full of energy, while I tried to keep up.

I climbed the stairs carefully, but on one of the steps, my foot slipped. The fall happened so quickly, and before I knew it, I was down. The pain hit me instantly, and I knew something wasn’t right.

Daniela ran over to me right away, her face full of concern. —"Are you okay?!" she asked, almost shouting.

I couldn’t move my leg. Daniela quickly called an ambulance. Within minutes, paramedics arrived and took me to the hospital. After some X-rays, they confirmed I had a broken leg.

Even though the pain was intense, I felt relieved to have Daniela by my side, who stayed with me the whole time. Despite the frustration of not being able to continue our routine, I knew I had to rest and recover, with the promise to come back stronger, but this time, more careful.
