Right now I'm listening to the Commodores singing about Jackie and Marvin on the nightshift. The night shift, when everyone is just a bit out of sync with the daylight world. But their voices are still there. They are still remembered. Sometimes it makes me catch my breath. This time we live in, the music we can listen to and enjoy. I have thousands and thousands of books. The last year, I've slowed down my reading a lot. It's about 5 books a week now. The one in my photo is a favorite. It's a book of American light verse. Just poetry for the fun of it. It's open to one of my favorites, and I read it out loud. What other things do I read? A lot of genre fiction. Great big college text books I buy at thrift stores. Cookbooks. Craft books. Some history but honestly not enough unless it's in text book format. One of the things said by people who came home with me in the past frequently is "You said you read a lot. But this is more than a lot." Not much for romance though. Mostly because I like big grand change the world revolutionary love. The kind of love that makes people better, truer, more fierce, more determined. I want the love to be the strength of the book and the challenges to be something other than drama of miscommunication or trying to save each other. Give me Trinity and Neo, not Romeo and Juliet. Give me love that saves everything. Other hobbies and things I do? I'm sure I'll get into that later. But what I actually came in here to talk about is one of my favorites. This last year, I've put together a nice little collection of sex toys. WHEEE! I was just talking on a FB page about one of my favorites, and how I'd like to see it improved. Recently someone recommended an Lelo Ina wave and I'd really love to try that one. I like getting dressed up pretty to use them, which is why I've made so many negligees and nightgowns. I sleep pretty. I dress up for myself, for my own appreciation. I'm worth it.
