Day 33/35 Mexico 🇲🇽: Punk Rock Flea Market - Tianguis Cultural del Chopo, Mexico City CDMX just went up on my YouTube channel! (Y a pedido de sus muchachos, he agregado subtítulos en español al video: toque el botón CC en el video!) I get back to Mexico City to end my trip where it began! Having had a solid party 🎉 night on my last night in Puerto Escondido, I really needed a long rest after getting into CDMX the day before. Having caught up on my sleep, I was feeling really fresh on this beautiful Sunday! I asked for recommendations of things to do from my followers & many of you guys told me about the punk rock flea market, Tianguis Cultural del Chopo! It usually takes place on Saturdays, but because today was Father’s Day, it was on! I brought my new friend, Raimon, that I met at my hostel, Wanderlust District & we headed out shopping! It was such a nice surprise to see so many of my viewers & followers at El Chopo also! It really made my day & I am so grateful for all of your support, because without you guys, I wouldn’t be where I am today! After the flea market, Raimon & I grabbed lunch at the vegan restaurant, Plantasia, then headed to Subterraneo Tattoo Piercing to get my second earring hole pierced! Raimon & I enjoyed the rest of our afternoon walking around, found another flea market & had some drinks. At the airport before flying back to Mexico City, I have an emotional moment reflecting on all the ups and downs of this trip and how much I’ll miss Puerto Escondido, where I arrived intending to stay 4 days, but ended up staying for 2 weeks! This was my freedom trip - the trip I promised myself I would take when my divorce finalized, but due to the pandemic it was delayed. This trip was about making my own choices, even if they were the wrong choice, it was about exercising my freedom & breaking away from the controlling relationships of my past to step into my new life, the unknown, the scary…but I did it and this trip really was my “wild & free” trip and I wouldn’t take back a single moment of It because I learned & grew from each experience (good & bad)! ⚡️ https://youtu.be/984hK-gM5HQ

Day 30/35 Mexico 🇲🇽: Sexually Assaulted while Photo Shooting in Puerto Escondido just went up on my YouTube channel!⚡️SUBSCRIBE⚡️ to ERIN MICKLOW on YouTube to follow my journey on this trip & watch 300+ punk rock videos - band interviews, festival recaps & live show footage! 💯🎶 With less than a week left of my 5 weeks in Mexico, day 30 started off in a relaxed way with solo dining, a walk down to Playa Carrizalillo, then back to where I was staying to get photo shoot ready! As I got shoot ready, DBasser practiced for his upcoming DJ set that weekend. Being used to primarily being around rock & punk rock musicians, it was interesting to observe & experience how a different genre of musician gets ready for a show! I headed down to Playa Coral to do a solo photo shoot (something I’ve gotten quite used to shooting at home throughout the pandemic) to create some new content for my subscription site. This is where things got really fucked up when a man was hiding behind a rock & MASTURBATING while I was shooting. This was absolutely sexual assault for the fact that it was NOT CONSENSUAL on my end. I was pretty shaken up emotionally by the experience, but was physically okay at least. After that, I headed back into Rinconada to try & calm down. I sat at a restaurant where I ran into my friend Diego from my hostel, Puerto Dreams, & he invited me out with them to Zicatela. After they left Zicatela, I was alone & got sexually harassed by several men as I walked trying to find a place to eat, so I absolutely lost it because it was just too much for one day! I quickly hopped in a cab to DBasser’s. When I arrived I couldn’t hold it together anymore so I had a good cry & DBasser hugged me. Sometimes you just have to let it out! Being back in an environment that I felt safe in, I relaxed a bit then we went out to dance & party it up at Cactus Beach Club! Dancing always makes me feel better & I ran into my girlfriend, Sharon from my Oaxaca City hostel that night which made me smile so much! https://youtu.be/1YE-n5sS3q8

First we had lunch at Piyoli Group, then we hit the beach at La Punta Zicatela! It was a gorgeous day so we sat under umbrellas all day on the beach relaxing! 🏖 A group of people at our hostel arranged a sunset picnic at a secret spot near Rinconada where we found a hole in a fence that led us to an abandoned house & the most stunning views where we had some drinks, talked, & listened to music! There’s not a whole lot to do in Puerto when it rains because it’s a beach party town, but we made the best of it & grabbed vegan lunch at Cocofam, found a nail salon 💅 and got our nails & toes redone, then had dinner & cocktails at El Sultan in Rinconada. We finished the night at XCAANDA to dance & party it up! As Sunday came, I was feeling really homesick after being away for nearly a month, so I had a solo day - went for a long run to shake off some stresses, grabbed a juice with a friend, then sat at the Argentinian restaurant, FILOMENA all afternoon by myself. We drove around on the boat for 3 1/2 hours & did not see one single dolphin!!! 🤦♀️ Everyone else said they saw hundreds so it seemed like a sure thing, but this was a complete waste of time & money. Needless to say we were irritated as hell after the tour so we took it easy all afternoon, then took a party nap before hitting the SinxCensura party! After being at that party for a bit, I went to Cactus Beach Club to end the night after having such a good time there earlier in the week! The following day, it pretty much rained all day because it was the rainy season, but that worked out being up late partying the night before!
