Its coming together tho! and yes I see mistakes and such but im really happy with how its turning out so far!!! In the last video you can see the mistakes on the top wood part bc my phone goes so close 🙈 thats where the glue squished through the wood pieces 😅 I tried sanding it off but that didnt work, then i tried covering it in wood filler and that didnt work... so it is what it is and im sure next time ill do better!!! thats the first time i ever tried a herringbone thing! I used paint mixers for the wood 😂

The end are photos of the finished products! The 2nd one I flipped an un-used pot upside down, drilled 4 screws on the outside of the pot part way in so that if I pushed the pot I wouldn't push it off the roller. It would just nudge the partially in screws and move the roller ☺️

Mike is a lot like me. His brain is all over the place and sometimes hard for other people to follow but hes a genius (Yes as soon as he walks in the door he goes digging for treasure up in his nose 😂 Im sure he was waiting ALL day for that 😂). Yes, hes an ADHD brain too mixed in with some PTSD 😂 He had major test anxiety so to combat that he just learned EVERYTHING and went in so prepared and understanding EVERYTHING he didn't have to have anxiety. He also doesn't learn well from others... kinda like someone else I know 😅 A lot of teachers that have that whole pride you need me type complex butt heads with mike bc he learns better on his own majority of the time. Or it takes a certain kind of teacher/style which is more unconventional to get through to him. Teachers that realize how smart and different he is LOVE him and say hes a hard worker and outside the box thinker. Teachers that need to feel needed want to chop his head off 😅 at this new residency attendings have admitted that he probably knows more than they do but they are getting on him about just mike things. more just style if that makes any sense. Like some painters keep all their paint seperated in colors and brushes clean and use tarps and have specific water things to clean brushes. Other painters have paint EVERYWHERE with everything mixing and messes and its just chaos. Both painters create masterpieces, just have different ways of getting there. It will take some adjustment time but im sure he will prove that there's a method to his madness and that mike just works well in chaos ☺️❤️

Finished Chase Section of this shoot
Im not 100% sure how I feel about it... Some days I look at them and love them! others im just not feeling them... I have never had a set where I was so wish-washy on both ends. The first photo I really couldnt make up my mind on the crop and which bw version... so theres LOTS of options. None of the roman ish looking photos called to my soul so I dont think im ever going to edit any of those. I think the black background and it looking so "staged" is what I wasnt feeling. Next time maybe outside or on some rocks with blue skies and I might be into it more

A little bit of everything and cut short bc the handy man texted he wanted to look at the water heater. He still stands by his initial thing that it needs to be replaced, so we will see if the realator/owner follow through... each day less and less hot water. Yesterday i figured out a technique that works pretty well! basically just turn it off everytime im not actually rinsing. that way each time i really do need to get wet I get bits of warm water and increments of being warm! not ideal... but its something! and at least not winter... 🙃

The current project :) first video of 2 ish minutes wouldnt load but at least the longer one did! I will keep trying to add the video and the photos
Found the thing at goodwill and really liked the fact that it was on wheels, the overall size, and low height of it. Decided the black was a little "heavy" and if I wanted to store things I would see the mess. I decided to add a back, cabinet front, change the inside to a moss green, bring in natural wood colors to the outside, and flute the front/sides :)
I got a HUGE piece of plywood at home depot and had them cut it into smaller pieces so i could fit it in my car (when I had mine) but the dude pushed it through the saw all kinds of crooked wonky 🙄 I did my best to make adjustments to his mistakes. so far im overall happy with it but i DEFINITELY see where mistakes were made or where I should have improved or done things differently. but still cool project that is keeping me mentally and physically busy/helping me set up in a beautiful way (the place HAS to be photogenic) 😂
