We had 16 @tulummuaythaimexico fighters compete from our gym including my wife. Stressful is an understatement managing the show and details with the nervous feeling of Brooke competing and preparing her to fight.
It is all worth it seeing the magic unfold and watching my fighters compete, win and lose it Super proud of everyone. Love my team to bits and the path we are all on together 🙏
Extended a few days for our ticket back out of Canada. We have been flown up by Muay Thai World Cup in Canada to have one of our students compete. Brooke and I took advantage to make a holiday out of it and spend some time together. Has been really nice 😊 appreciate the fight life and the opportunities that it creates for us
We make our Tulum Muay Thai trainers level up ⬆️ every month with “Eddie’s Padholding course”. We take away the bad and unknown habits from each coach, I make them all stick to the same ques, keep simple strong thai style, learn timing and distance. Here’s an exclusive uncut videos from the pad course today! Study away and become an epic trainer ✏️
We also do drills that e corporate these exercises in training every/ day week. So you don’t just become a better fighter you’re a better trainer. Also being a good trainer builds IQ for your ability to read a fight and styles 👊
Having his first Fight, improvement has changed so much since Niko first arrived 2 months ago. It’s like a time chamber training x2 a day. It’s hard on the body and a lot of information but with the right intensity, rest, focus the rewards are dramatic improvement in a short time being in a thai camp
I’ve had my head down these last few weeks, training hard and focusing on the gym and the fight show. I haven’t announced I’m fighting yet. I’m dropping down to 72kg for the first time ever since I couldn’t get an opponent. I feel good, it’s way easier than expected and I’m still eating as much as I can just more healthy and a little food hacks. 3 weeks to go till I fight.. august 19 tune in @rumbleinthejunglemexico
Looking forward to getting back in there to win this belt! Means a lot to me this belt because I won my WMC world title on Nai Khanomtom day in Thailand. Now I am fighting for the WBC NAI KHANOMTOM belt. I want this 😈 been training super hard
Face off for the WBC Nai Khanomtom title! Proud to fight for this belt and opportunity.
I’ve done a lot more mindset work this fight camp on the mental side of fighting with controlling the minds wandering thoughts.(good or bad)
As the fight gets closer and closer, especially on the day. There are too many alternative outcomes we think of which takes up a huge mental toll on energy and focus. I don’t have any room for thought outside of my statements I say to myself about the fight camp.
“I have trained to my best ability this camp” “I have the skill set to beat my opponent” “I am enough, I am more than enough”
That’s all I need to hear and repeat to myself if I found my mind would drift away from being in the present moment.
I only concentrate on my schedule for the day and would slowly build my “trigger” before the event, this consisted off
1.My refuel and reload nutritional plan after the weight cut. When and what food to eat for optimal performance.
2. Rest and meditation
3. Stretch
4. Going to the event early so I can see the arena of where I will perform/ fight. It’s important as It has played apart in my previous visualization for performance and mindset (next post)
5. Socialize, do hands, rest at venue and wait to do the warm up routine.
6. Perform my warmup routine for the performance ( next post)
Our new partnership with Tulum Jungle Gym! We have installed a vintage boxing ring inside their premises for private training. Super cool location! Here is some Raw padwork with one of the fighters Marcel Neibur.
I started a non profit food program so the fighters and trainers can have access to affordable food. Some of the fighters eat for free on rotation if they help out in the kitchen after training. The program is small and steady as we failed the first month with over spending and waste on produce which hit my bank hard that month. We gave it another go next month with a better structure and it is working out, we are going on about 3/4 months now.
We have teamed up with our friends at Sneakreaper Industries who help support the program financially to provide equipment and an allowance each month for food. Eventually we will grow the program so all the trainers and fighters eat for free. 🙏
Today I was teaching the class how to develop explosiveness with all variations of punches. They can also measure themselves against other fighters to see where they need to improve. It’s important to operate on a steady state cardio in a fight and still have explosive power throughout the fight. A lot of fighters lose the explosiveness as the fight goes into later rounds.
I’ve put this show together solely for the fighters at my gym to keep fighting and to have a focus in these last months in Tulum before we all do the big move to Puerto Escondido. I know how it feels to be an athlete and to NOT have a fight/competition ahead of you.. it can be demotivating when you’re hungry to fight. So I really wanted to keep them all active and focused
So that’s why I’ve thrown this together last minuite. I’ve decided to have fun with the show and have a laugh at the event instead of stress about it. It’s going to be alot of fun and I get to see the guys be happy and fight.
I didn’t get any sponsors to help me pay for this show which sucks because it’s costing me a few 1000 dollars. Anyone that’s promoted a show knows it adds up with fighters salary’s, hotels, ambulances/doctors ect.. I’ve been super busy with our plans and move to puerto and to get the gym for sale as main priority. I’m going to do a raffle and donation for people to help me pay for the fighters salary/event. Anyone wanting to support please buy the livestream here on my only fans page to watch the guys fight. Going to be a fun event with good Muay Thai 🙏 Tune in 4pm Saturday Tulum, Mexico time 🇲🇽 🥊
2018 - 2023 improvement on my step up knees. Your target/opponent will always be moving so you need to practice a regular walk forward footwork until you are at range, your opponent will go in and out of range. Don’t be too far or too close. Practice and more practice 🙏
Keeping a strong guard, composure and footwork. Biggest thing in Muaythai is this. Then you can advance. Get this down pat, the add in some counter strike kicks
Waiting is better. Build IQ on your opponent. Counter attack and use the correct weapons.
Here we are waiting for an attack and then using the Teep as a long range weapon to off balance the opponent. You will score great points and you can follow with an attack after this
One line drills in Thai camp: We form 2 lines behind our trainers. The first line hits pads with a drill that has been shown before. The second line does fitness exercises. 40 seconds of explosive work each round!
