I pretty much abandoned my violin when I started modeling, and it’s frustrating to see how much I’ve regressed over the years. I’ve decided enough is enough, I’d rather be a crappy violinist than not a violinist, and started retaking lessons this month. I learned I’ve been holding my bow poorly all these years, causing that screechy whispy sound you hear (notice how my pinky keeps disconnecting with the bow). I’m doing some exercises to correct it, and hopefully will result in a better sound. Here are some exercises! It’s honestly really hard familiarizing myself with this new muscle group.

Tomorrow I resume private violin lessons 🎻 I haven’t been playing as much as I should, and I feel like this will really inspire me to push myself. Also: about a week ago, I fucked up my right wrist pretty bad. I can’t put any pressure on it, even texting hurts if I’m not careful. Of course those are the muscles I need to move a bow: I expect this lesson to be painful. (I have a Drs appointment this Thursday and I’ll ask them about my wrist while I’m at it)

⚠️ serious post alert ⚠️ Over a year ago, I grew a firm lump on my groin. At the time, it was the size of a pea. I assumed it was a cyst that’d resolve itself in the coming months, and never got it checked out because I don’t have health insurance. Well, it continued to grow, and became a cluster of lumps on my right-hand side. Then more grew on my left hand side. I have about a dozen now, some the size of a marble. I have no health insurance, but tomorrow I go in for my first ever gynecology appointment. I’m honestly really scared and cried when booking my appointment. I’m so scared of medical offices, needles, and surgery. I’ve never had bloodwork, I vomited when putting in a tampon for the first time, and fainted during my Covid shot. I need to take care of my health though. So wish me luck.
