2021-12-15 16:00:26 +0000 UTC View PostSpeedwork planned for tonight, and I'm so excited to hit the track, and it means I avoid the -28 temps outside currently.
2021-12-14 16:20:02 +0000 UTC View PostA late night 8 mile run on my dreadmill. I would have braved the cold, but it's dark and icy out. That's 13 miles today. 🤗
2021-12-14 05:24:14 +0000 UTC View PostIt was a cold -15 run this morning; my husky loved it though. For OOTD, some of these items I've had for years.
2021-12-13 18:14:04 +0000 UTC View PostI'm so grateful for the minor stiff and sore muscles again as it means I'm able to train. I need to keep doing the little things to stay healthy; eat well, rest properly, stretch, and foam roll.
2021-12-13 04:22:57 +0000 UTC View Post'The task ahead of you is never greater than the strength within you.' - unknown Two more easy runs today as I'm incredibly stiff. I'm excited to hit the track in the coming weeks to work on my speed.
2021-12-12 17:22:53 +0000 UTC View PostWith snow squalls happening outside, and a cold week ahead, a bikini pic just reminds me that summer will return.
2021-12-12 06:22:47 +0000 UTC View PostI'm really feeling those 200s. It's a different stride and form than going out for a steady longer run, plus it was a hard track surface. I'll be doing two very easy shakeout runs today.
2021-12-11 18:36:19 +0000 UTC View PostHow I spend my Friday nights. *2 mile warmup *16x200 with 45 second break *2 mile cooldown Doesn't sound too bad, but the short recovery starts to make it difficult on the last 4 or 5.
2021-12-11 05:11:43 +0000 UTC View PostAn hour run last night, plus some pool running, and an easy 4 miles this morning. It's an extra happy Friday when I can run.
2021-12-10 16:38:54 +0000 UTC View PostMy back is feeling fairly good after yesterday's hour run/walk. Today I'll run for another hour on the treadmill. If all goes well, I think I can increase the intensity. OOTD, maybe I wear too much black and white? 🤔
2021-12-09 15:58:07 +0000 UTC View PostAfter physio we are fairly certain it's just muscle tightness I'm dealing with, and I'm going to ease back into running. This morning I was able to do an hour walk/run on the treadmill pain-free. Casual OOTD; there is another version on my paid page.
2021-12-08 18:36:31 +0000 UTC View PostAn hour on the elliptical last night, and an hour pool run this morning. Getting good workouts in, but I miss running! Plus OOTD.
2021-12-07 18:58:29 +0000 UTC View PostPlanning on the elliptical for the second workout. When I'm injured I feel like I have to get at least 2-3 hours of cross training in to maintain fitness. Plus OOTD, a scarf and boots for a snowy, cold day.
2021-12-06 21:45:06 +0000 UTC View PostA 60 minute aqua run in the deepend. I focused on a quick cadence and keeping my heart rate high. It's a great workout; my legs felt wobbly afterwards - red cheeks afterwards.
2021-12-06 18:01:06 +0000 UTC View PostI'm almost glad I have to cross train inside where it's warm, it's -20 outside with the windchill.
2021-12-05 17:39:22 +0000 UTC View PostNothing strikes fear in the heart of a runner more than the words stress fracture. And I'm starting to suspect I may have a sacral stress fracture. Hopefully I'll get more answers this week. In the meantime I'll be cross training 2+ hours a day.
2021-12-04 17:16:57 +0000 UTC View PostI water ran for 45 minutes yesterday with some breaks as I forgot how hard it is. For those looking for a great workout without any impact, go to the deep end of a pool, and use a typical running motion. You can wear a flotation belt to help keep you buoyant. You get some weird looks, but I'm used to that. 😄 Partial OOTD.
2021-12-03 14:49:57 +0000 UTC View PostRunner's are obsessive and it's hard to take time off due to injury, so I'll be taking my obsessiveness to the pool to water run. It's a great resistence workout without any impact. Boots for OOTD as it snowed here.
2021-12-02 15:58:33 +0000 UTC View PostI've decided to cancel my February marathon so there is no pressure to train, and I can let my back/hip fully heal. I will be hitting the cross training hard though and seeing if I can get ready for spring track. A familiar sweater for OOTD.
2021-12-01 15:42:16 +0000 UTC View PostA bikini post seemed appropriate as it looks like I'll be hitting the pool for the next few days to cross train as my back/hip pain is still an issue, and I need to avoid impact until it's completely healed.
2021-12-01 01:35:00 +0000 UTC View PostYesterday was a two run day and today my back/hip feels good. The mobility and stretching routine is working. Today I may try to pick up the pace and see how that feels. I might be dating myself with this OOTD.

2021-11-30 02:09:20 +0000 UTC View PostI was able to get out for an easy 8 miles this morning. My back and hip mostly cooperated. 😁 And I wear this leather jacket with everything; OOTD.
2021-11-29 21:59:58 +0000 UTC View PostHopefully one more rest day does the trick and I'll be back training tomorrow. 'The journey is rarely about the destination.'
2021-11-28 15:56:31 +0000 UTC View PostA minor setback paves the way for a major comeback. Lots of mobility exercises for my hip and back, plus stretching. Doing what I can now, to feel amazing later.
2021-11-27 21:37:56 +0000 UTC View PostI have only ran twice this past week and both were painful with back/hip pain. I'm resting today and tomorrow too, and hopefully in full swing by Monday. It's hard to take rest days. I feel like I'm losing fitness rapidly, but in reality that takes weeks. And I want to be able to run with a full powerful stride.

2021-11-26 15:46:47 +0000 UTC View PostLeah the husky is happy we are back running; eight miles in today. I was hoping for a second run, but my back says otherwise. I'll have to ease back in. Sometimes a day or two off now, prevents weeks off down the road.
